Which Garmin Devices Work (are compatible) With MoguWind APP

MoguWind APP is available on Connect IQ for 29+ Garmin devices. Find if your watch or device supports real-time wind data per kilometre.

If you are thinking about installing MoguWind on your Garmin, the first question is obvious. Does my device support it? MoguWind runs on 29 Garmin devices, but not every model works. Knowing which ones do saves you time and avoids disappointment when you are ready to ride. Garmin compatible MoguWind APP.

Which Garmin Devices Support MoguWind

MoguWind runs on Garmin's Connect IQ platform, so it comes down to whether your device has Connect IQ 3.1 or later. Older models and basic trackers do not. Here is the real list.

That is 29 devices across cycling computers and sports watches. If your Garmin is not here, check the MoguWind app page or the Connect IQ Store, where the list is always current.

Not a single forecast for the whole route, but the actual wind you will meet.

Why Your Garmin Model Matters

Not every Garmin shows the data the same way. The Edge computers and the bigger screens, like the fēnix and Epix, show the wind clearly with room for every field. On smaller watches you still get the wind, just with less space for the optional extras.

That is why many riders use the web planner alongside the device app. MoguWind Plan shows you which parts of your route will be headwind, tailwind or crosswind before you ride. Then out on the road, the app gives you the wind live on your screen. Plan at home, ride with the live data on the device.

How to Check Your Garmin's Compatibility

To confirm your exact device, do this.

  1. Open the Garmin Connect IQ Store, on the web or in the app.
  2. Search for MoguWind.
  3. If your device shows up, you can install it.
  4. If it does not, your Garmin does not meet the Connect IQ requirement.

You can also check your device specs on Garmin's site for Connect IQ support. Without it, MoguWind cannot run.

Installing MoguWind on Your Garmin

Once you have confirmed it, installing is easy. Open the Garmin Connect app on your phone, go to the Connect IQ Store, find MoguWind and tap Install. It syncs to your device over Bluetooth in a few minutes. Then, on the Garmin, add MoguWind as a data field on your activity screen.

No account, no email, no sign up. It is free to download. The wind data comes from Open-Meteo and works worldwide, and the first time your Garmin needs a phone connection over Bluetooth to pull it. If you want the wind kilometre by kilometre before you go, that is where the web planner comes in, showing the wind timeline for your whole route.

No account, no email, no sign up. You add it and ride.

Free to install. Takes two minutes on the Connect IQ Store. Works on 29 Garmin devices.

If Your Garmin Is Not Compatible

If your device is not on the list, you have two realistic options. First, make sure you are on the latest firmware from Garmin Connect, just in case. Second, think about whether a newer device makes sense for your riding. Something like the Edge 840 or a fēnix 8 shows the wind clearly and is built for this kind of tracking.

Either way, you can still use MoguWind Plan on your phone or computer to see the wind on your route before you leave. It gives you the full picture without a device at all.

Your Garmin is the dashboard for your ride. Pair it with MoguWind and you get the real wind you will meet, kilometre by kilometre, not a single number for the whole route. Check the list, install it, and ride smarter.

See the wind at every kilometre of your next ride, before you leave.
